Our flagship product "Julia's Caesar" salad dressing was ready to take to market in February. I had reached out to the folks at Wheatsville Food Co-op and they agreed to try it. Thanks to Niki Nash, Chris Moore and Nina Norton for loving the dressing and for giving us a place on Wheatsville's shelves.
Sometimes magic happens. I was blessed to meet Marilyn Sozanski through her sister and my long time friend Elaine Karp. I was talking with Elaine about the look I wanted for Gypsy Grove's label and branding. She put me touch with Marilyn and I have been blown away ever since by her talent, dedication and uncanny ability to draw exactly what I see in my imagination. We have never met in person but we have Skyped occassionally, especially when working with deadlines. Thank you Marilyn for the beautiful banner art, our labels and everything else that you create to express the magic of Gypsy Grove.
Thank you to Herb Levy at Just Add Chef for helping me navigate the maze of permits, insurance and infrastructure to be able to produce our products commercially.
Thank you to Dale Herbert of Royal Blue Grocery for bringing Gypsy Knots and Julia's "Everybody Wants It" Toffee to his store. Thanks to Sonya Cote of Hillside Farmacy for selling Julia's Caesar and Julia's Toffee.
Thank you to Louis Karp, Quincy Adams and countless other food intrepreneurs who have shared their wisdom and insights.
Thank you to Mary Walker and Paul Deisler whose cash donations have enabled us to pay for a couple of more expensive necessities, including our LLC status.
To all of our dear friends who have gone to Wheatsville, visited us at the farmer's market or ordered our products on-line, a very heartfelt thank you!!! A special shout out to George, Kathy and Neil who visit us at the market regularly.
Thank you to Carla Jenkins for giving us a spot at The Mueller Farmer's Market and to all of our fellow vendors for their support and advice.
Finally I wish to thank my partner Blaze Callahan. Without him there would be no Gypsy Grove Foods. His faith in my vision birthed this business. His support and dedication helps us to continue to grow. He created and maintains our website and Facebook page. He runs countless errands for us and works deligently to maintain our label, packaging and office supplies. Blaze is always coming up with new ideas for marketing and promoting Gypsy Grove Foods, as well as keeping us on track with the "nuts and blots" of running a business. We also work our booth together every Sunday at The Mueller Farmer's Market.
We are very excited about our next year of being in business and look forward to new opportunities. We have several new products in development and several new stores we are talking with. We will keep you posted.
I wish you all a very Happy New Year! May 2013 be filled with joy, blessings, love and lots of good food!!
